Our company was formed by accident when my wife asked if I could make her a Montessori inspired bookcase for our daughter’s room back in 2020. She wanted to create seasonal, inspiring book displays & have an easy to access way of choosing books. When other people saw the bookcase they asked where it was from and so Bear Wood Furniture was formed!

Our first piece, the Freya bookcase, is named after our daughter who has just turned four and our current best selling rotating bookcase, the Raffy, is named after our two year old son.

Our products use sustainably sourced hardwood plywood, and come in a natural hand sanded finish. They can be varnished, oiled or painted if desired but we love the natural look leaving them untreated.

Our range continues to expand, so there is hopefully a product for everyone and that will spark joy for you too.
