Credentials
One for friends who don’t like flowers! A Bucranium is an ox skull motif which was often used as a decorative device in classical architecture. The motif is thought to originate with the practice of displaying the heads of garlanded, sacrificial oxen on temple walls, a practice dating back more than 2500 years. A perfect gift for little brothers, wayward nephews and wild nieces (and your inner Goth).
The Bucranium was modelled in clay and cast in plaster of Paris. It measures 28.5cm high x 28.5cm wide and has a hook cast into the back for hanging.
All our plaster casts are for indoor use. They can be dusted with a soft brush - please don't get them wet!
This piece is cast to order. The lead time is up to five working days, plus delivery time.

Ide, devon
Deep in the rolling hills of Devon, down a winding country lane, you might stumble across our dusty workshop. Most days you’ll find us there too, elbow deep in clay and plaster. Our collection of pretty plaster plaques are sculpted in clay and cast in plaster of Paris. They are inspired by flowers and the natural world, and by the play of light and shade. We make them for the sheer joy of it, and we hope they will bring beauty and cheer to you and your home too.
